Our 5 day Cape Town Weather Forecast is updated every hour. Visitors looking for accommodation in Cape Town often want to know what to pack. It is quite possible to have 4 seasons in a day in Cape Town; and Cape Town’s weather can also be unpredictable. The incredible geography of this area also contributes to the complexity of the weather. Our forecast gives you up-to-date information on the weather in Cape Town for the next 5 days.
There is a cold ocean next to a BIG mountain in the City. Just a few kilometres away, the residents of Hermanus contend with completely different weather patterns than the residents of Stellenbosch do .
Generally , the best summer months in Cape Town are between November and April. By far the best summer experiences are in late February through March. (This is an awesome secret that most locals keep to themselves... Shhh... )
Winter in Cape Town seems to occur from mid-May to mid-September. In winter it is generally cold and wet. The winds can be quite strong too. These days are best spent touring wine estates, visiting museums and – of course - watching soccer.
Suggestions to tourists.
Be prepared for changes in weather. Layering clothing works well. Keeping a sweater or a jumper in the car is a great idea – even in Summer. Always keep sunscreen nearby in Summer.
Umbrella’s only work in windless wet conditions – and there are not many of those in Cape Town in winter - so parkas, raincoats and “hoodies” work well in Winter.
